“Are your infrared heat panels safe to use in infrared saunas? What guidelines or recommendations apply to such use?
”
Yes, they can absolutely be used to warm people safely in homes and businesses. That’s where we originally got the idea when we saw them permanently mounted as 4’x 4‘ sheets to ceilings and walls as heaters. That application design is extremely thin. It’s barely noticeable once mounted to a ceiling or wall.
We produce a rugged, much smaller portable design that can be used in the construction industry/water damage industry that will hold up to years of use being handled and moved around.
Guidelines for Safe Use
To ensure optimal safety and performance, here are a few recommendations:
Minimum Distance: Keep the heat-emitting side of the panel at least 6 inches away from any materials or people.
Ideal Comfort Zone: For personal warmth, a 2-foot distance works beautifully—like placing one under your desk to warm your feet and legs. (True story: one of our team members stayed cozy this way when their furnace went out!)
Sauna Use vs. Room Heating
In a small infrared sauna, our panels can be a fantastic addition. They deliver focused warmth and are energy-efficient. However, in larger spaces like bedrooms or offices, don’t expect a noticeable rise in ambient temperature. The key is direct exposure to the infrared waves.
